Just watching Leeds United on LUTV.
I have to say that LUTV brings a fab service to lower league clubs that otherwise wouldn't be able to appreciate unless you follow / live near your club. Now I'm not a fotoball meathead, however football provides a nice distraction with everthing else going on and it's great to get consumed in it all ...
Planning to see Leeds on Dec 13th - still remember one of my sons going there to be a mascot which was a great day (see the pics here!).
Ok more tech stuff soon.
Haven't posted here since May. There are several good reasons for that. Main one is that I was made redundant in May and it's been a busy, busy few months.
The redundancy didn't take me completely by surprise and the company I worked for (Morgan Stanley) treated me very well. It's more the change to lifestyle which when you look at it from the outside brings many positive things e.g. Less travelling, more time with kids etc, however it also brings some negatives like what the hell do I do now?
With the financial crisis, it wasn't worth me looking to the City for more work (I'm also over 40, and although still a coder, not many people don't believe you can still do it), and also I saw it as an opportunity for change.
With that in mind and helped with a lot of support from my family, I decided to setup in business ... firstly forming a temporary company called SqueakyMouse, soon to become Centella in conjunction with a good friend of mine.
We already have a couple of projects. The first being helping Colonix bring their product to market, and also providing a solution for Sygma Events to run several ice rinks this year in Cambridge, Leicester and Bristol.
We are leveraging services from an India Offshore team - Infoshore to provide programming services.
There are a few other projects in the thinking - watch this space (how many times have I said this before?) ...
Nice free utility to split and merge pdf files - pdfsam.
Found this great site which allows you to see images of your web site in different browsers on different platforms. It doesn't allow you to interact with the site, however it shows what the page will look like.
Have been looking around for a quick intro to adobe flash cs3 - something to tell you quickly about what all the various timelines and layers mean. This tutorial by Terry Felke-Morris was very useful.
